How the Transit Card E-Bike Key Works
Your HOTEBIKE’s handlebar display has a built-in NFC reader — the same tap-to-go tech used for contactless payments (here’s a quick explainer from the NFC Forum if you’re curious how it works under the hood). Once paired, just hold your card or phone near the display and you’re good to go.
4 Simple Steps to Set It Up
Step 1: Quick Compatibility Check
Make sure your transit card and your HOTEBIKE’s display support NFC pairing — takes seconds.
Step 2: Activate Your Card
Open your phone’s Wallet app — Apple Wallet on iPhone, or your built-in Wallet on Android — and add your transit card.
Step 3: Pair It Up
Switch off the bike’s display, wait 5 seconds (listen for 3 beeps 👂), then hold your card against the reader for about 15 seconds until it beeps you the all-clear.
Step 4: Double-Check the Pairing
Pop open your wallet app — your card should now show as paired with your bike. That’s it, you’re riding.
Is It Safe?
